WallPod EV Charging Points are compatible with every EV/PHEV on the road today!
As NICEIC and Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) approved installers of Rolec Electric Vehicle charging posts, we can install an EV Charging Point at your home or business premises.
If you have Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) within your commercial fleet then we can install an EV Charging Point at your business premises. You may even be eligible for a grant to cover part of the cost of installation. The maximum grant available is currently £4500.00 for new Electric Vehicles. Please click here for further information.
There are many different types of EV charging stations available that range from 10amp Single-Phase to 63amps Three-Phase. The type of charging station you may need will depend on the electric vehicle you have or are looking to purchase and the type of electric supply you have at your premises. In all cases, we’re here to design the installation around your requirements while keeping to the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (3rd Edition).
Things to consider when choosing your EV charging station:
Where will it be installed?
Typically, the charging station should be located outside your premises and away from any existing electrical equipment. They can be installed in garages/car parks; but there must be adequate ventilation and cooling facilities.
What size EV charging station can I have:
This will depend on your current electrical installation and usage (also known as demand). Our designer will be able to advise you on the maximum size station you’re allowed to have.
How much does it cost to install an EV charging station?
Each EV charging station installation is unique and must be designed specifically for the current electrical installation. As a guide for a standard 16amp single-phase installation on a domestic property without any grants available, you would be looking to pay between £500.00 and £1000.00 plus VAT
Can I get a grant if I already have an electric vehicle?
Unfortunately, no. The government grants are only available for new electric vehicles only.
How much of a grant will I get?
This would depend on the type of new electric vehicle you purchase and the purchase cost of the vehicle. The current maximum grant available is £4500.00 which would be given for the most energy efficient type of electric vehicle. Also, if you purchase an electrical vehicle that costs over £40,000.00 you would not be eligible for a grant. For more information on the types of cars eligible, click here
