EV GRANT OVERVIEW

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) is a grant that provides a 75% contribution to the cost of one chargepoint and its installation. A grant cap is set at £350 (including VAT) per installation. The main requirement is that a person owns, leases, or has ordered a qualifying vehicle and has dedicated off-street parking at their property. A person may apply for 2 chargepoints at the same property if they have 2 qualifying vehicles.

The grant works by a customer choosing an EVHS installer to install their chargepoint. At CPA we can supply and fit Rolec and Easee Electric Vehicle charging posts for your home, business or rental property investment.

Electric vehicle installation for Business - Fleets & Workplaces

If you have Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) within your commercial fleet then we can install an EV Charging Point at your business premises.

There are many different types of EV charging stations available and technology is ever changing. These stations range from 16amp – 63amp Single-Phase (typically for home use) to 16-63amp Three-Phase (typically for commercial use). The type of charging station you may need will depend on the electric vehicle you have or are looking to purchase and the type of electric supply you have at your business premises. In all cases, we’re here to design the installation around your requirements while keeping to the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (3rd Edition).

The Government recently announced that developers will be required by law to install electric vehicle (EV) charge points in new homes, supermarkets and workplaces. This new legislation will also apply to any major renovation works on buildings.

But it's thanks to the regulations that the Government estimates up to 145,000 extra charge points will be installed across England each year.

FAQ's

Typically, the charging station should be located outside your premises and away from any existing electrical equipment. They can be installed in garages/car parks; but there must be adequate ventilation and cooling facilities.

Each EV charging station installation is unique and must be designed specifically for the current electrical installation. As a guide for a standard 16amp single-phase installation on a domestic property without any grants available, you would be looking to pay between £500.00 and £1000.00 plus VAT

Unfortunately, no. The government grants are only available for new electric vehicles only.

We carry out all property maintenance for domestic, commercial and industrial customers. This can range from homeowners, landlords, shops, letting/estate agents, housing associations, high street stores including commercial and industrial companies with premises throughout the South East.

This very much depends on your current electrical usage. In most cases, the answer is yes as new technology; especially for the Easee Charge Point has a unique auto-balancing system to maximise charging based on the vehicle plugged in against the percentage that the car battery is charged.

The maximum grant available for home charging is £350.00 (inclusive of VAT) per household; but this is due to change from April 2022. The maximum grant available for workplace charging is £350.00 (inclusive of VAT) per charging point, up to a maximum of 40 charging points.
